Speak Week is a campaign run by the Voice Zone to gather the views of our student members. Speak Week runs from 18 – 22 November, and we want to hear your suggestions for change at Surrey!

During Speak Week, we will be asking all students to tell us what they would change if they were in charge of the University and the Students’ Union. This is your chance to share your ideas on what you would change, improve, or add to the university experience to make it the best it can be.

Get Involved

There are many ways you can get involved and share your ideas during Speak Week:

  • Anonymously drop your suggestions into our ballot boxes around campus, or submit your ideas through our form
  • Visit us at our Speak Week stalls to submit your ideas and gain more entries into our prize draw
  • Come along to our Feedback Café event in the Front Room on Wednesday 20 November between 13:00 – 15:00
  • Join our online Student Voice Forum event on Tuesday 19 November at 18:30 – 20:00
  • Take part in one of our Speak Week Focus Groups
  • Contact your VP Voice, Luana, if you have any comments or suggestions you want to discuss in more detail

Speak Week Prize Giveaway

By taking part in our two question form, submitting your change suggestions in-person at one of our stalls or at our Feedback Café, or online during Student Voice Forum, you will get one entry into our Speak Week Prize Giveaway. Once the form closes at the end of Speak Week, we will draw ten participants at random to each win a £20 cash prize.

Tell Us Your Thoughts

You can complete our two question form to let us know what you’d like to see changed if you were in charge of the Students’ Union and the University!

Speak Week Focus Groups

During Speak Week, we will also be hosting a number of focus groups to discuss your experiences of Personal Tutoring at Surrey. To sign-up to take part in one of our focus groups, please book onto a group here. Sign-ups will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Focus groups will take place online during the week beginning 18 November, and participants will be paid £12 for their time. If you’re interested, you can see available sessions here and book a place.

Previous Speak Week insight report

As part of your last Speak Week, we asked students “If you were in charge of the university for the day, what would you do?” and “If you were in charge of the Union for the day, what would you do?” using both an in-person and online ballot box. Take a look at our insight report to find out more about our findings.
