All of our vehicles and external hires can be broadly collected into three categories with their own eligibility criteria:
- Car (5 – 7 seaters)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a held a UK or EU license for at least 1 year
- MPV / Van (up to 9 seats)
- Meet the above and have completed our Minibus Competency Check (bookable here after successful driver application).
- Minibus (up to 17 seats)
- Meet the above and be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a held a UK license for at least 2 years
If you meet the the minimum criteria above, all you need to do is submit an application via the links below. Standard application is for anyone without points on their licence and without any insurance claims within the last 3 years.
For non-UK/EU students you must also be within the first year since entering the UK but will be limited to our Car category. After this first year you will need to have a UK driving licence to continue using this service. You will also need to complete the non-standard application below and email a copy to ussu.information@surrey.ac.uk. When we have confirmation from our insurance we will add you to our database. This may have additional excess conditions.
Our standard excess is £500.
